This is the standard design for an early American made Militia leather cartridge box. These types were seen in the late Revolutionary War and were used up until the War of 1812 and later. This gorgeous example has extremely pliable leather for its age, and has aged very well. The stitching of the leather is phenomenal and both belt loops are intact, something we dont often see. The front of the flap had a lovely
